About Me

Hi, I’m Hazel; I’m 24 and I go by any pronouns! I’m a fat queer disabled artist living with severe ME/CFS and Fibromyalgia. I make a variety of things when I’m well enough and the inspiration strikes!

If you feel like buying me a coffee (Ko-fi):

Hazel Alison Camp:
An Artist of Many mediums & Heartfelt feelings

I was born and still live in the beautiful garden city: Ōtautahi, Aotearoa. I’ve been drawn to all forms of creativity since I could hold a brush at 11 months old!

My projects have ranged from painted glass potion bottles, digitally drawn tarot cards, through to cake decorating and painted letter boxes. Mediums I’ve explored include: acrylic and watercolour paints, pen and pencil, ink, crochet, limestone carving, book binding, embroidery, doll customizing, and beyond – following my interests and ideas where they take me regardless of medium.

I have been living with the debilitating illnesses ME (Myalgic Encephalomyelitis) and Fibromyalgia for over a decade. I am currently housebound if not bedbound the majority of the time. When I can find moments of energy and bodily function that make it possible to do creative things, they are some of the biggest highlights of existing for me!

Back in 2015-2016, I ran an Etsy store called HazyHappiness where I sold handmade things that appealed to my whimsical & nerdy heart; this was during a short lived improvement of my health. It’s currently on indefinite hiatus, but I hope to reopen it one day.

I am self-taught, but have learned much from the many great artists on YouTube.
