Hi, I’m Hazel! (22, any pronouns) I’m a fat queer disabled artist with severe ME/CFS and Fibromyalgia. I make a variety of things when I’m well enough to and the inspiration strikes!

Hazel Alison Camp:

An Ōtautahi/Christchurch, NZ-based artist, I’ve been drawn to all forms of creativity and developing my art and craft skills since I could hold a brush at 11 months old.

Projects have ranged from painted glass bottles, digitally drawn tarot cards, through to cake decorating and painted letter boxes. Mediums explored include: acrylic and watercolour paints, pen and pencil, crochet, limestone carving, book binding, doll customizing, and beyond – following my interests and ideas where they take me regardless of medium.

I have been living with the debilitating illnesses ME (Myalgic Encephalomyelitis) and Fibromyalgia for a decade. I am currently housebound if not bedbound the majority of the time. Finding moments of energy and bodily function that enable creativity, is a highlight.

Back in 2015-2016, I ran an Etsy store called HazyHappiness, during a short lived improvement of my health. It’s currently on indefinite hiatus, but I hope to reopen it one day.

I am self-taught, but have learned much from the many great artists on YouTube.
